I am so blessed to have my daughter home for Christmas 2011. Everything about Christmas is better when viewed through the eyes of a child. I don't even mind that Baby Jesus keeps being placed on top of the manger in our Nativity Scene... and I don't think our Heavenly Father minds either.

One month ago, we came home from China... in a blur! We woke up on November 11 in our beds, in our house, with our family... It seems like yesterday, but I feel like MeiLeigh has been with us forever. Our sweet girl is doing great... Here are a few things that I don't want to forget...

We were worried that she wasn't crawling when we got her home. She now crawls ALL over the house, and in the last few days has let go... and walked. As MeiLeigh's confidence increases, she will be a full-time walker!
MeiLeigh eats anything (well, except baby food... that is offensive) and enjoys it... she will say, "mmmm" if it is really good (ice cream, vanilla wafers, peas...)
Our sweet girl sleeps at least 12 hours each night... she won Daddy over with that for sure!
MeiLeigh will give kisses, but they are precious... not too many of those... but she will "throw" them more freely.
Favorite toys: anything that plays music; princess toys (from Hong Kong Disney); all Little People (especially the cat); all things she shouldn't have (mail, remote, phone, computer, etc.)
Current vocab: Ma-Ma; Da-Da; Bubba; Cat; Bye-Bye; Mmmmm; Aahhh (screamed loudly to signify displeasure with anything.)
We are totally in love.

Not only does she cook for the family - have EVERYONE over for holidays, but she travels to China with her only daughter to pick up the only granddaughter!! What a blessing this sweet lady is to everyone that knows her... I love my MOM!! Happy Birthday... and many, many more!

Our sweet Empress is sleeping... taking her afternoon nap... I can't help but think about a woman... 7000 miles away. This time last year, she held our girl in her arms... she made what had to be an incredibly difficult decision... to leave her child - our daughter - so that she could be found... I thank that strong, brave woman for carrying MeiLeigh nine months and choosing to give her life... and I pray that she will know in her heart that OUR girl is safe, warm, happy, perfect... and loved beyond belief. Later today we will celebrate the first birthday of our beautiful Empress... and as the candle is blown out, I will probably shed one more tear for a woman I will never know... but we will always love.

Yes, we are home... Words can NOT begin to express the appreciation to those of you that followed along on our journey, and prayed us to China and home. Our prayers were answered in ways beyond our imagination and desire. MeiLeigh is truly the most precious girl! She has won the hearts of everyone... especially her Daddy and three brothers.

I want to "officially" thank Melissa for keeping up the blog while I was in China. YOU did a super job keeping everyone updated on our travel, and posting pictures. I know my family really appreciated you taking the time to do that... in addition - you and Tanya are the best of the paparazzi! I will forever treasure the pictures and video from the airport...

Chen Family Temple

We went to the Chen Family temple today. It was really pretty, and the weather here in Guangzhou is extraordinary! MeiLeigh loves being in the stroller - walking around outdoors. We also did a "little" shopping... can't wait to see our girl in the traditional Chinese dresses (oops... did I say "es"?) MeiLeigh has felt great today... I am going to run finish up some paperwork. I did find a shirt for her that says, "Made in China"... that was for you, Brian! :)

Hope the Tide rolled... right over LSU... waiting for score updates!

Thanks again to everyone that is keeping me up on the world at home... Paige Hicks wins excellent photo award for pics of my favorite #44... Can't wait to see him live and in action next Friday - trying to teach MeiLeigh "go Purple Devils"... :)

Flew to Guangzhou

Sorry I "disappeared" for a couple of days... we flew to Guangzhou at bedtime (not a good time for Mei!). She ran a fever yesterday... was a little worried. She had a "medical exam" to get permission to travel home. That was a horrid experience... shed my first bad tears in China.

I love my daughter's country, but I am ready to be home... I will never be able to thank everyone for the messages...They are truly what get me through each day.

Update:
MeiLeigh is good now.. She ran fever for about 24 hours, but is playing and happy now.. I received my letter from DHR so I can bring my sweet girl home... LIFE is GREAT today!! FOUR days and I am HOME!!!!!!

I have attached a few pictures of our girl. She had an incredible day today strolling around Elephant Lake... One of the most beautiful places I have seen - and it was so quiet and peaceful. Right now in our room, there is a jackhammer, horns blowing (many, many horns blowing!) and other noises (well... add in MeiLeigh's sweet breathing... she is taking her afternoon nap.) Glad nothing really phases her... I, on the other hand, am unable to afternoon nap with the current sounds. We had lunch at a Chinese restaurant (surprise?) and it was great... It was like the buffet except they bring it to the table - I didn't even have to get up! It was only $6 - just like the Headless Dragon! :) Jiangxi province likes to spice up their food... it gets my attention!

We have paperwork to finalize tonight at 5, and then tomorrow we will go to Guangzhou... I am ready for the next adventure - it is one step closer to seeing my family and friends! Thanks for the emails... they are truly getting me through the days... :)

This girl was certainly sent directly from above. I can't wait until everyone can see her in person.. I have never experienced anything so heavenly. I am seeing God's work first hand... Went for a Stroll

Visited the Teng Weng pavilion today... it was a gorgeous day to stroll MeiLeigh outside... she looked as cute as ever and enjoyed being outside.

We had traditional Chinese lunch... who knew I LOVE Lotus Roots? Lunch was good, but I know why everyone from here is so thin... eating with chopsticks is a lot like exercise!

MeiLeigh continues to amaze me... she is more beautiful every time I look at her... Many Chinese people came up to us today (and obviously recognized I am not from around here!) Our guide fixed us a name badge to wear with an explanation that we are adopting MeiLeigh
and will love her forever... I received so many "thumbs" and "lucky baby" comments... MeiLeigh is not lucky... We are lucky! All of the people in the world, and God chose us... us. Wow. Lucky... blessed... beyond words.

The Empress is napping... I am going to read the email you are sending - it absolutely MAKES my day!! Love to you all!

I sent her some questions I've received (Melissa):

1) Are you getting any rest?
MeiLeigh sleeps from 8:30 pm - 6:30 am.. does not whimper... so yes, I am sleeping. I have a dull headache from lack of Diet Dr. Pepper, but all else is good.

2) What in the world do you have to do for another 10 days?
We are applying for a visa, passport, etc. for MeiLeigh to leave her home province. After the application, we have to wait for it to be processed... Once received, we travel to Guangzhou and do the USA side of the travel home paperwork... Wait for them to process it and allow us permission to bring home our angel. We are going to the China Walmart today... and my camera battery is charged... We are getting to see much of the Nanchang "city" (and I will never complain about anyone's driving at home again!).

3) Is MeiLeigh eating/sleeping/behaving well?
MeiLeigh is truly as perfect as a baby can be. The Orphanage Director said MeiLeigh is the most beautiful baby from the orphanage. As long as MeiLeigh has a body part on me, she is smiling and cackling. Her personality is infectious. Our travel group has predicted she will be the class clown. She takes bottles of formula and cereal twice a day, but eats table food at each meal (and LIKES to eat!) She ate the spicy noodles at breakfast that were tooo hot for me!! She loved them!

4) How is your mom?
Mom is great!! She has carried the diaper bag and rearranged our stuff in the room 100 times. MeiLeigh loves her (from a distance), but will not let Mom or anyone but me hold her (Yes, I love it!).

5) Why can't you get on Facebook?
My VPN isn't working so I can't access blocked sites (Facebook, Blogger), but I do receive email. Even if I don't respond, I am reading them. They are priceless as I am on the other side of the world. They get me through the wait. Thanks (Melissa) for sending everyone's Facebook comments. Every "Wow" and "Beautiful" comment on my girl has helped the distance seem not so far.

6) Is the food good? Does it taste differently from our "Chinese" food?
The food is not really like "our" Chinese. It is served in much smaller portions for one, but is not bad. It is different. I have enjoyed pork (like our mu shu pork) dumplings, lots of lo mein noodles. Breakfast is a buffet with everything from eggs (our chef now knows how to make them scrambled!) to broccoli to 1000 year old pickled eggs (nope, didn't try that).

This is the face I see 99% of the day... she closes her eyes when I use the flash... but wanted you to see just how PERFECT our sweet girl really is... We are doing great... so many nice families in our group... MeiLeigh has completely attached to me (the rock hard left bicep is proof!) God didn't just answer our prayers... He showed us just how much He can really do... way beyond our requests!! Worth the Wait???? OH HECK YES!!!!

Just talked to Kim for about five minutes via Skype. MeiLeigh was sound asleep in the crook of Kim's neck. You would never have guessed they'd known each other for one day - they looked so natural together. I had to pull myself together and stop crying. It was just such a beautiful sight!

Just Skyped with Kim and MeiLeigh! I've never seen her happier! MeiLeigh giggled the whole time - she looked right in the camera and laughed out loud when I made silly sounds and goo-goo faces. Brian was having Skype tech issues, but we got them resolved - thank heavens! So...MeiLeigh will get to meet her daddy via Skype around midnight tonight!

Kim said MeiLeigh slept through the night until she woke her up. She said MeiLeigh was the "perfect baby." :)

Started today EARLY... Mom and I were awake at 4:00 am... the time difference is rough. We did the Beijing Tourist "stuff" including walking the entire Forbidden City. One of the highlights of today was receiving the message that the Purple Devils won the last regular season game 12 - 7. I was rather excited and shouted "We WON!" to the shock of numerous visitors... after a brief explanation, everyone was happy for the undefeated season!!! We had a traditional Chinese lunch - and I learned what a waxed gourd looks like cooked - although I can't tell you how it tasted. :) We toured a jade factory (well... where they turn jade into jewelry) and MeiLeigh has her first birthday gift from her grandparents. Finally we made it to the Great Wall... it was... well... I have no words. Incredible, overwhelming both come to mind - but they don't seem to be sufficient.

We leave Beijing at 7:50 am for Nanchang... MeiLeigh will be leaving her foster family around 11:00 am - we will meet in the hotel at 3:30 pm tomorrow... There WILL be an updated picture of our girl tomorrow night!! :)

This is Melissa Shields (standing in for Kim). She just sent me a message and asked that I share it with you.

She's in China! She got in really late at night (around 11 AM here) and is now up for breakfast and a tour of the area. It's around 6 AM there. She hopes to be able to post pics soon.

She's having trouble with Internet, which means no Facebook or blog. :( In the meantime, I'm posting for her. She gets emails from comments on the blog, so keep them coming!

She said the flight was "LONG and brutal." Fortunately, there was a seat empty between her mom and her. Her spirits were good, however, as she ended her message saying, "It is already an incredible trip, and I get the prize tomorrow!" So excited for her!

His baby sister will be at the game... no longer an orphan, but the MOST loved brown-eyed beauty on earth. Thank you God for blessing my family with many things... tonight I thank you for the safety of OUR #44, his teammates that know how to win with class, the coaches that lead them to be young men of character, and the head coach that I have loved beyond words for over 28 years. I also thank you again for giving Feng Qiu Hua to our family... she is already loved by so many people. I just need you to keep your arms around my shoulder and your hand over my mouth.

Well... our friends continue to amaze us! Brian's school held a shower for our brown-eyed beauty today. MeiLeigh received so many wonderful things... it is a little bit overwhelming for me to realize how much she is loved - already! Brian works with great people. They made the shower extremely special for him as an expectant father... they even included hot wings, and the perfect cake for a Head Football Coach/Father-to-be. I loved hearing how anxious they are to meet our sweet girl... Our plane leaves in 7 days... MeiLeigh will be in my arms in only 10. We are so blessed!!

Everyone that knows me knows... I do NOT like surprises. As an elementary principal, I had in my staff handbook, "First Graders LOVE surprises, Administrators do NOT." That hasn't changed, but I did have not one, but TWO surprises this week... and I have to say, they were both incredibly wonderful!!

On Thursday, my office surprised me with a fabulous Baby Shower!! There were so many of my dear friends that took time from their busy day to attend. It was amazing... I must say that I did cry a little... :)

On Friday evening, what I thought was a regular meeting of our "book club" turned into another surprise shower with some of my closest friends.

MeiLeigh was given so many things... the gifts will be enjoyed, but the memory of how much our precious daughter is loved by so many is priceless. I stand amazed that a beautiful, brown-eyed girl on the other side of the world has already won the hearts of so many... I am still overwhelmed that my friends and coworkers love our daughter... already. God continues to show His face daily with me... and He continues to remind me that He has everything in control. I know I am a slow learner, but I am continuing to trust His plan for our girl... and I have learned that all surprises are not bad.

Yes... I said I would do a major "thank you" list for my next post BUT this is something really post-worthy! Today, I BOOKED our international travel... On October 27, my sweet mother and I will fly to Beijing, China. We will travel from there to Jiangxi where on October 30 I will have the most beautiful, brown-eyed beauty placed in my arms... THE Big Moment. Halloween is not my favorite holiday, but Halloween 2011 is going to be the most memorable holiday to date. WOW!! In other exciting news, my husband will NOT be meeting his daughter on the sidelines of a football field - we will arrive home on a Thursday, not a Friday! God continues to show Himself in the little things...

September 22 our sweet, beautiful baby girl turned 10 months old. THAT should be enough, but we also received our Mighty TA - Travel Approval on the same day. Our travel date was estimated to be November 3.

Then... Friday morning we were surprised with a wonderful email from our AWESOME travel advisor, Jenny... The possibility to travel earlier is available!!! Our tentative travel date is now October 27...

I am so very excited I don't know what to do first... tomorrow (well, today!) I plan to make some progress in the room, with the clothes, and maybe even pack some outfits for our girl.

God has out done Himself again... He is bringing out blessings that are even better than we imagined. I am one thankful person... next post will include a few of those I am thankful for... You know who you are... yes, you. Check back to see your name in print! :)

Nothing new in our world... Well, I did order a doll for MeiLeigh. If you are unfamiliar with Baby Be Blessed, I encourage you to check it out... now... I will wait.

I ordered a doll at the beginning of our journey, and really love it. I decided that I wanted one to remember the special day that we received MeiLeigh's referral - so I ordered another. Each of these dolls come with a scripture patch on their tummy (which you know because you went to that site and looked)... This is the patch that will be on our referral day doll:

Travel in approximately 47 days... Yay!! We're coming MeiLeigh... Hang in there!

So... What's New?

We received an email from our agency contact telling us Farewell... that was truly bittersweet! I have longed from emails from her each month for over 5 years... it is almost like losing a friend...

But the good news is - we are moving into the next stage of this adventure. We are now in the TRAVEL Phase... this means we are waiting for "travel approval" from China. It also means I have to gather more paperwork to prepare for our upcoming trip. YAY!!

Still no new pictures from our care package, and haven't yet received our copy of MeiLeigh's finding ad. BUT I did receive my order from Carter's and the items I won on eBay. Oh my! How cute items for girls are!!

This will be lengthy, but it is for my memory!

On Monday, I was sitting quietly in my office waiting for a very important meeting with our State Department. My blackberry "buzzed" at 9:50 am as it does several times each hour... I glanced at it and saw: Subject: The Stork Has Landed! Calmly I opened the email to read, "If you have received this email, we are pleased to announce we have received your referral." WHAT?! OH my gracious. I sent a text to one friend while calling the other, called my parents, and remembered I should warn my husband. Friend M was on the other line, Friend T replied with an "on my way", mom was at WalMart, dad was on ready, and my sweet husband was ecstatic. I sent a text to the older brothers to be stating "You will see your sister's face today!" There were happy people in the life at that moment.

Because nothing is ever simple, I chose to run to the facilities as we waited for the "big" email to come in... and we had that meeting at 11 that I had to attend. As I nearly ran over a kind lady in the restroom, she asked if I was okay. My reply of "I am about to have a baby" shocked her to say the least... she wanted to boil water and have me breathe, so I quickly explained what was happening.

Friend T showed up with an ever appropriate bamboo plant and pink balloons, and the promise to stay by my side. It is awesome to be loved (yes, I know she really just couldn't wait to see MeiLeigh's sweet face.) Friend L picked up pizza because there was no way I was leaving (especially while wearing Friend T on my left leg) Finally at 1:21 pm, the long awaited email appeared... we had waited 5 years, 1 month, 2 weeks, and 1 day for this moment... and I panicked. With my hand over my mouth and my eyes wide, I looked at Friend T (who had spent the last 3 1/2 hours sitting beside me trying to keep me from freaking out) and said, "I have to open it"... Friend L ran to get Friend M, and I clicked the email.

At that moment... the world stopped... the angels sang... and a hole in my heart filled. I became the mother of the single most beautiful baby girl on this earth. A precious child selected by our Heavenly Father to be OUR daughter. With tears in my eyes and looking at Friend T for confirmation, I announced the obvious... "She. Is. Beautiful." Our pictures were forwarded to my husband, sons, parents, family, and friends with the help of Friend T. Amidst the rush of coworkers entering the office, I called to verify that the delivery was received... MeiLeigh's father was close to speechless, her grandparents in awe, big brothers were so proud, and my sweet, fun girls were with me in spirit if not in person! I could not have scripted a better delivery!! With the assistance of social networking, people were celebrating the announcement of our daughter, and all agreed that she is PERFECT for our family. As a Christian for the majority of my life, I have never doubted the ability of our awesome God... but on August 29, 2011 - He outdid Himself... and amazed even me!

I really thought the end of July referrals would include us (July 14) - I was truly COUNTING on being included. How wrong I was... the referrals went through July 13... we were missed by ONE day. After 60 months of waiting, it would be a lie to say I was anything other than disappointed (devastated, traumatized, etc.)... and I got the news sitting in a room full of school administrators from around our state. It was hard to keep it together, but I didn't shed a tear even though I felt that my heart would LEAP out of my chest! Then, I received the following email from my oh, so wise mother:

"We don't want the wrong baby---ours is still waiting---Let's be patient

--- God is in Control!!!

So hang on blog buddies... I will be introducing you to OUR MeiLeigh at the end of August/first of September. She will be the perfect daughter for us - How can I be disappointed in that???

WOW... 5 Years.

Our family has been officially waiting (meaning our paperwork has been logged in) for FIVE years!! It is hard to believe it has been so long ago that we started this journey... The beautiful baby (Jillian) that started this adventure for us is now a gorgeous little girl with a precious baby sister also home from China. We feel certain that our time is almost here... I look forward to the day that I can post a picture of our sweet daughter on this blog!! Thank you all for keeping us in your prayers as we near the end of the waiting, and see the real adventure begin!!

China has referred 10 days!!! Referrals are matched through June 30, 2006... that means they are officially working on July... and we are July 14. WOW!! We will see MeiLeigh's face in 2 - 3 months (it could even be sooner if the stars are aligned correctly!) I am torn between shock and awe... So much to do... :)

It just hit me... like a ton of bricks. There are ONLY 23 days to be referred until we see MeiLeigh's face. The last time I let the "how many days" creep into my mind, there were over 40 - that seemed like months and months of waiting. We may actually be getting close now. I might start to get a teensy bit excited again.

Well, it is April of 2011... As of today we have been waiting for MeiLeigh for 4 years, 8 months, 2 weeks, and 6 days. Wow! The last referrals went through June 15, 2006 - our LID is July 14, 2006. Most of my friends have quit asking about the adoption, and that is okay with me. I mean, how many times can you explain that we are "still waiting"? Sheesh... Even Brian has stopped asking "when?" All of that was written to explain the absence of attention to the blog... BUT as I feel like a referral is within the next 6 months for us, I thought I would revive it. So... as I can see a Light at the end of the Tunnel (although it is a dim light!) the blog is being revived! Stay tuned for at least monthly updates... starting with April 14th... our official 57 months LIDversary! :)

LID 35 months. WOW… that’s a long time! I really thought the wait would be a memory at this point, but no… we are still waiting. Our “golden ticket” is up for renewal (again) and we have an appointment for fingerprinting next week.

Yes, we are 33 Months closer to MeiLeigh. Referrals have been for those logged in right at 36 months. If this holds true... we would see our baby girls beautiful face in three months... I hope and pray that the trend continues, but I imagine it will be a little longer than that.

I have been a faithful reader of China adoption blogs since WAY before we were logged in. There are many that are my "favorites" and I have really enjoyed watching their children grow up. One that I follow daily is Mali at My Chinese Dream. They are working through RAD (attachment disorder) which is a fear I have had all along. I ordered a book about parenting the hurting child... my plans are to be as prepared as possible, but continue to pray that we will never really need it!

Happy 33 Months to Dannye (waiting for Chynna!)... it won't be much longer until we meet in person and travel together!!

Can you believe another month has passed?

Each month that passes brings us a little closer to getting our hands (and kisses) on MeiLeigh. 32 Months... wow! There are many things going on in our lives right now. Matthew just found out he was selected for a scholarship which will provide funds for a trip to Egypt. Yes, Egypt. Michael began his last term as a high school senior... he has accepted a scholarship to begin The University of Alabama in the fall... in the International Honors Program. (What is it with my kids wanting to travel?!) :) JohnMark finished two parts of the graduation exam - we will find out his scores in the next few months. He continues to lift weights in preparation for football in the fall.

I continue to read about China adoption. I don't know if I will be an expert (in education an expert is defined as someone who travels over 50 miles and brings handouts... ha!) but I know that I WILL be as prepared as possible for whatever challenges we will face as new parents to an adoptee. ...and yes, I know that parenthood is not all cute outfits, hairbows, playing with toys, and instant love. But with the love of my extended family, and God's grace, MeiLeigh will know how much she is loved and our adoption will be awesome!

Another Month Bites the Dust...

Happy Valentine's Day - 2009! Today marks 31 months since we were logged in at the CCAA for our daughter, MeiLeigh. The log in date (LID) is the "official" day of pregnancy... I have now been officially pregnant for 2 years and 7 months to the day.

Why is this significant? Well... my first son, Matthew, was born on March 26, 1988. On October 26, 1990, 2 years and 7 months to the day later, we were blessed with a second son, Michael. Believe it or not, 2 years and 7 months to the day later, May 26, 1993, we were blessed again... with our third son, JohnMark. So, needless to say, I had a small hope in my heart that the waiting of 2 years and 7 months to the day would present at least a small blessing in the wait for MeiLeigh. The day is young... it is only 9:30 am... but I am not looking for any news today.

I hope all of my blogger buddies have the opportunity to celebrate Valentine's Day in their own special way... whether you enjoy an exciting evening out or a quiet evening in... enjoy the day with someone you love, and someone that loves YOU! Keep praying for a speed-up in the referral process... I want to remain young enough to buy Pampers for MeiLeigh BEFORE I need Depends for myself! :)Love to all...

Here is Michael - "the middle child" of our family. Today Michael had a little over 10 inches cut off of his hair to donate to Locks of Love! I am proud of him for making such a special donation, but I am THRILLED he cut his hair! :) Michael has a heart of gold... Oh how I love this young man!

JohnMark played football tonight and he had an AWESOME game.

He scored 10 points total... rushing for a touchdown and two two-point-conversions. Plus he is the kicker and punter...

To make the day more perfect... all A's on the report card - including Honors English and Honors Biology! I am so proud of my son**!

Michael is safely at home - classes have been cancelled "until further notice" as the school was evacuated. First Day of School

My baby starts HIGH SCHOOL today!! Little do they know, but that high school will never be the same. He is a little apprehensive as he has a test on his summer reading for Honors English. Along with Algebra, Honors Biology, and Football (athletic PE) his day is pretty full. Hope everyone has a wonderful "first day" whenever your day is... :)

On a happier note... the Olympics have started! The opening ceremony was incredible. China certainly knows how to put on a celebration!

It is "back to school" time around our house... Michael leaves this weekend to begin his senior year in high school; JohnMark starts his freshman year of high school on Monday; Matthew will be heading back to Vanderbilt for his junior year in a couple of weeks. The house will be too quiet soon.

We have been looking for our next vehicle. Why? Well, Michael will need a car for his last year of HIGH SCHOOL!! Yes, he is a Senior. So... Brian surprised me with a new VW Jetta! I LOVE this car. It is four doors (so that we can have easy access to the car seat WHEN we get MeiLeigh!) and has everything a girl would want in a vehicle! Woo Hoo!! I am driving a new car!!

We have hit another "milestone" in the journey to MeiLeigh. Two years ago we were officially logged in China... the pregnancy began. No one has any idea how long we have left to wait, but we will do that - WAIT! MeiLeigh is already a part of our lives... we love her, pray for her, and yes... I buy her lots of stuff. :)

Today marks our 23rd month of waiting for MeiLeigh! I am still reading all of the "China Blogs" and watching the babies grow up. It is so rewarding to see these babies find their "forever family" and become so happy and well adjusted.

Tomorrow is Father's Day! I am blessed to have the most wonderful Dad. Say a prayer for those who have lost their father... especially those "Daddy's Girls"!

All three of the men/boys are home for the summer!! I am so excited to have pushing and shoving in the kitchen at meal time - who knew that a fuss over who ate the last piece of pizza could bring such a smile to my face?! God has blessed me with three very special sons. He couldn't possible find the perfect daughter for our family without careful looking, thinking, and deciding. THAT is why the referral process is taking so long... He is looking for not just any baby girl, but OUR MeiLeigh! She will have to be a "scrapper" to hang around this house! :)

Yes... we are still waiting... and no, we have no plans of ever giving up. Our daughter is out there... she is looking at the same moon we are looking at, and one day we will all look at it together! Until then, we will wait and pray for MeiLeigh (and maybe buy a few things to provide retail therapy!) Thanks to all of you who send encouragement. I appreciate the kind words!

Many lives have been affected by the recent earthquake in China... keep all of those in your thoughts and prayers as they try to survive the after shocks, and then pull their lives together. I can only imagine the horror they have experienced!!
